The first stage of any analysis is understanding the individual data fields in your table. For numeric and date/time data fields you can use the Field Usage tab to examine the minimum, maximum and average values encountered for each field in your data. Ensure that these fields are what you would expect from that data source. Also for numeric and date/time fields you should examine the standard deviation figure which gives you an idea of the frequency of occurrence of the field values. For discrete fields you can examine the various discrete values and the frequency of occurrence of these values.
